It was formed in 1864.
It was named for the Boise River, which was named by French-Canadian explorers and trappers for the great variety of trees growing along its banks in the lower desert valley.

Boise County Public Records

NOTE - The office is only open between 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. MST from Monday to Friday. Those looking to request reports must also bring some form of photo identification. Both driver's licenses and state IDs would suffice. In Boise County, a requester must also put their public record requests in writing.
