The Idaho State Police publishes annual crime data for all the counties in the state. Its latest reports were for 2018. In that year law enforcement agencies recorded 51 rapes, 14, robberies, 235 aggravated assaults, and a single case of murder offense in Bonneville County. The agencies also recorded 431 burglaries, 977 larceny-thefts, 125 motor vehicle thefts, and 7 arsons.
The five-year crime trend analysis from 2014 to 2018 for Bonneville County shows increasing rape (24.4%), robbery (75%), and aggravated assault rates in 2018. A single case of murder was recorded in 2018 compared to none in 2014. Also, burglary rate went up by 11.9%, while there was a decreasing trend in larceny-theft (43.9%), motor vehicle theft (16.1%), and arson 41.7%) rates.

However, to obtain a statewide criminal record check, contact the Idaho State Police. The Bureau of Criminal Identification of the Idaho State Police provides a statewide fingerprint and name-based criminal history check services for members of the public. To request a criminal history check, complete a Fingerprint Based Check and Payment Authorization Form or a Name-Based Check and Payment Authorization Form. Each check costs $20, payable by debit/credit card or cash check.
Applicants’ fingerprints must be submitted when requesting a fingerprint-based check. For fingerprint services, residents of Bonneville can visit the County Sheriff’s Office located at the address provided above. Applicants can also visit the Bureau of Identification’s address provided above to obtain fingerprint services. The office charges $10 for each fingerprint card and $5 dollars for additional fingerprint card services requested together.

Bonneville County Vital Records
Divorce records in Bonneville County are available from the district courthouse. To view or obtain copies of divorce records and decrees, visit the Clerk of District Court at the address provided above.
The Idaho Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics process requests for marriage, divorce, birth, and death certificates for all the counties in the State of Idaho. The Bureau keeps marriage and divorce records from May 1947 to the present and birth and death records from July 1911 to the present. Generally, these records are provided for the record owners, relations and legal representatives. Birth certificates become public record after 100 years, while death, marriage and divorce certificates remain confidential until after a period of 50 years
To procure a marriage, divorce, birth or death certificate, start by completing a Certificate Request Form. Each certificate costs $16. A certified photocopy can be obtained for $21, while each additional photocopy requested at the same time costs $16. Check or money order made out to Idaho Vital Records is accepted for payment.
The Bureau requires a copy of an Acceptable Identification Document to process each certificate request. Photocopy of both sides of the ID is needed.

Processing time for a certificate request usually takes between 4-6 weeks after receipt of the application. However, applicants can request expedited service. To request this fast service, write Rush at the back of the mail request. This service costs $10, payable by money order.
