It was formed in 1879.
It was named after U.S. President George Washington. He was an American political leader, military general, statesman, and Founding Father who served as the first president of the United States from 1789 to 1797.

Washington County comes with a charge per copy. First copies of birth records cost $16. Marriage records in Washington County cost $16 for the first copy.
NOTE - Washington County requesters must attain records between 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. MST from Monday to Friday. To attain records in Washington County, photo identification is needed. State IDs and driver's licenses will do just fine. All Washington County public record requests must be put in writing.
