It was formed in 1864.

Records in Shoshone County do come with a charge. First copies of birth records cost $16. Shoshone County marriage records cost $16.
NOTE - Shoshone County requesters must get records between 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. MST from Monday to Friday. If a requester wishes to get files, they must bring some form of photo identification. State IDs and driver's licenses will do just fine. Only public record applications put in writing will be accepted in Shoshone County.
