It was formed in 1864.

It was named for the Native American Shoshone tribe.

Shoshone County Public Records

Vital records are kept on every resident in Idaho. These records hold a person's most prominent milestone life events. Records in Shoshone County do come with a charge. First copies of birth records cost $16. Shoshone County marriage records cost $16.

NOTE - Shoshone County requesters must get records between 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. MST from Monday to Friday. If a requester wishes to get files, they must bring some form of photo identification. State IDs and driver's licenses will do just fine. Only public record applications put in writing will be accepted in Shoshone County.
